Tarlac Recreational Park - My Favorite Pet-Friendly Park in Tarlac

Tarlac Recreational Park with Audric, Mhershey and Archer

Last September 11, 2016, we decided to spend our Sunday afternoon at Tarlac Recreational Park. It's one of my favorite places here in Tarlac. It is also the most peaceful and beautiful park near the city proper. If you're looking for a safe haven to unwind and breathe fresh air with your family and pets, this is the first place I recommend!

Also known as Jose V. Yap Recreational Sports Center was named after a late Tarlac Governor whose dream was to have an International Sports Complex in the province. His son, former Governor Victor Yap, fulfilled and built his dream on a 78-hectare property in San Jose, Tarlac.

Tarlac Recreational Park (TRP) isn't just an ordinary family-and-pet-friendly park. It has a lot of amenities for everyone - Zip Line, Soccer Field, Olympic Oval, Picnic Grounds, Man-Made Lake for Fishing, ATV - Motor Cross, Mountain Bike Trails, Air Soft, Paint Ball, Water Craft Training, Kayaks, Olympic Swimming Pool, etc.

About 2 years ago, we joined the 1st Philippine Dog Festival held at TRP. It was my first time to see the place, and I instantly fell in love with it.

Hey, before you let your pets do the same at the park's lagoon, I want you to know that Mhershey developed a mild skin allergy after this event. We weren't sure what caused it, though. Was it the dog food she ate during the event's dog buffet? Was it the water? We really have no idea.

If you plan to visit Monasterio de Tarlac or have a lovely family getaway without spending too much, Tarlac Recreational Park is a perfect place to add to your itinerary.
